Launched two years ago, Aurgasm has developed into a destination of passionate music lovers around the globe. Its audience includes music mavens, critics, journalists, and bloggers—a highly influential audience. It has been profiled in The Boston Globe and mentioned on MSNBC.com, BoingBoing, Kottke, del.icio.us, and digg. Aurgasm specializes in everything not under the American rock umbrella—music such as: downtempo, folk, nu jazz, chanson, scandinavian, jazz, cuban, brazilian, electro, soul, jump blues, bluegrass, film score, and electronica.
A young man of twenty-five years, Paul's interest in music was initiated by his parents' rock band, playing The Standell's 'Dirty Water' in his basement. Since the mp3 format appeared on the internet, Paul has been eager to find his next favorite song.
His interests include: user experience design, emerging web trends, ecommerce, branding, maps, product design, typography, information design/overload, & sustainability.

I listen to everything I'm sent, but I prefer music that isn't by a 'band'.
Julija is an art student in Vilnius, Lithuania fond of wine and contemporary design. Andrew (blog) is a travelling Scot who writes and currently lives in London.
actually, I think you already talked about her previously in this blog ;-)
When she drops out the vocals there for a minute, right before the horns drop, that bass programming is butter smooth.
Her cover of Bob Marley's "Concrete Jungle" is masterful.
She's pretty big in Quebec. I think she made an appearance in the Montreal Jazz Festival.
:d Tastes like dark chocolate.
crikey, this makes my eyes water.
Wonderfully relaxing. Thanks for this post.
definitely like the kinds of music you recommend!! have just stumbled on your site a few days back and i'm addicted!
Cheers Julija! Always love your selections.
Anyone who's interested in checking out some cool new music, the Lovemakers have a new album coming out July 24, and its going to be great. There new single, Whine and Dine, is very fun and everyone should check it out!
I could probably post if it was a paid gig, I find alot of good music by reading other sites. I dunno if it would always be artists nobody ever heard about becuase I'm constantly finding artists I like that actually have a large fan base. But yeah I blog http://www.nickcast.tv. Anyways love this site and the tunes. My email is Nicka102@gmail.com.
Julija - Sweet. Wish you all the best. Thanks for the intro to Mareva.
One of my Albums of 2006. From Paris and on ukelele too: The Ukelele Girls. Check out their Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/ukulelegirls) for a great cover of Coolio (or Stevie Wonder, if you like)
Cheers everyone!
@Guuzbourg, merci beaucoup!
That has a pretty unique sound, kind of like big band or something along those lines. If anyone is looking for some cool music, the Lovemakers are dropping a new album soon and its going to be great! Keep an eye out, because the album drops soon and they are going to tour as well.
Paul -
Just a quick follow up to mention that Sound Exchange announced a compromise a few hours ago that will delay the enactment of the new royalty schema for internet radio.
It's not a fundamental change of any kind - more a short term stay of execution - but it will give us a little more time, and hopefully give the parties at the table more time to work something out.
Looks like it's gone... can't get anything but a 404
Fuck. you're right. I'll fix soon.
@Mokawi, thanks. fixed now.
As I understand it, members of Budos Band are also in Amy Winehouse's band (or,as we in Holland like to call her, Amy 'No Show' Winehouse)

Hi there, I just found your site today and I'm so glad. I really enjoy this artist (I'd never heard of her!)
Thanks, I'll be back! :)
I hate to say that her voice shames the actual music.
I love it. All but the singing.
Great Voice!!!
I must've missed your post the first time around. A friend sent me a couple of mp3s by Bernadette Seacrest and it was love at first listen. :)
